At The Sheboygan Collective, we believe art is a powerful way for young people to build confidence, curiosity, resilience and a sense of belonging.
Our programs aren’t designed around twenty kids making the same thing. Instead, our educators introduce techniques, share a variety of examples, and provide an abundance of materials to give young artists a place to begin—then we leave room for their ideas to take over.
Over time, we’ve watched students move from asking, “Is this right?” to walking into the studio saying, “I have an idea.”
That’s the growth we’re after.
September | Paper Making Lab
Grades 2–5 + Middle School • 3-Week Series
This September, we’re exploring paper—not simply as something to make art on, but as the art itself.
Across three weeks, young artists will learn traditional papermaking techniques, create imagery with colored paper pulp, experiment with delicate paper lace, and build sculptural forms from paper pulp.
We’ll provide the techniques, materials and inspiration. They’ll decide where to take them.
Fall evening enrollment is limited to 10 students per section.

Each month, we open the studio to our larger community for a Saturday of creative exploration.
Our youth artists’ work from that month’s classes will be displayed throughout the studio, giving them an opportunity to have their ideas seen and celebrated. Students are welcome to share what they’ve been learning with visitors if they’d like—and every student enrolled in that month’s program is invited to attend Open Studio complimentary.

Youth Educator
Kasie helped develop the Mini Makers program and all of our summer camps at The Sheboygan Collective. A lifelong artist, Kasie has always seen art as a way to explore and express the world around her. Inspired by books like Cassie’s Magic Flowers and James and the Giant Peach, her imagination finds beauty in the unexpected and splendor in everyday moments.

Lola Jakimczyk is a Sheboygan-based muralist whose vibrant, imaginative work can be seen throughout the community—including at Sunday Dough and Above & Beyond Children’s Museum. With a deep love for public art and playful color, Lola brings creativity, warmth, and positivity to everything she does.
As a returning mentor from our youth art camps, Lola brings experience, patience, and encouragement to the studio, helping young artists feel seen, supported, and inspired to create boldly.
