This month, we’re exploring paper—not simply as something to make art on, but as an art material itself.
Across three weeks, young artists will learn traditional paper making techniques while experimenting with color, texture, shape and form. We’ll make handmade sheets of paper, use colorful paper pulp to create imagery and patterns, experiment with delicate paper lace, and explore sculpting with paper pulp.
As always, we’ll introduce the techniques, provide plenty of inspiration and fill the studio with materials to explore. From there, students will be encouraged to experiment, make their own creative decisions and see where their ideas take them.
3-week series
Enrolled students are also invited to attend our monthly Community Open Studio complimentary, where work from the month’s program will be displayed and celebrated.
