Wearable Art: Appliqué Workshop
October 7th | 6:30–8:00 PM | $45
The Sheboygan Collective
You may have noticed Whitney wearing her appliqué pants around town—and if you’ve been wondering where she got them, the answer is: she made them herself.
Now it’s your turn.
Join us for a playful evening of turning something already hanging in your closet into something completely your own. In this hands-on appliqué workshop, you’ll learn how to embellish a favorite pair of pants, button-down shirt, tote bag, jacket, or just about anything else made from fabric.
Bring a garment or accessory from your closet and we’ll provide the rest. Choose from a collection of TSC-designed appliqué shapes and patterns, or create your own design for something truly personal. We’ll walk you through the basics of arranging, layering, securing, and stitching your appliqué pieces so you can leave with a one-of-a-kind piece you’ll actually want to wear.
This is part craft, part fashion, and entirely about making something ordinary a little more interesting.
What to Expect:
An introduction to appliqué techniques
A collection of fabrics, shapes, and designs to choose from
Guidance for creating your own design
Hands-on instruction for attaching appliqué to fabric
Time to transform your own garment or accessory
What You Will Love:
Giving something already in your closet a whole new personality
Creating wearable art that feels completely your own
Choosing from playful designs or making something from scratch
Learning a technique you can continue using at home
Leaving with something you’ll actually want to show off
Materials Included & What to Bring:
Materials Provided: A variety of fabric scraps, appliqué designs, templates, thread, needles, and other supplies needed to embellish your piece.
What to Bring: One garment or fabric item from your closet. Think pants, a button-down shirt, denim jacket, tote bag, sweatshirt, or anything else you’d like to give a little creative attention.
No sewing or art experience necessary. All skill levels welcome.
Come make your clothes a little more you.
Our Studio is located on the second level with stair access only
