Join us for a creative evening that blends photography, embroidery, and a little bit of whimsy. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll transform a photograph into a one-of-a-kind piece of stitched art by layering colorful cross-stitch details over the image.
Bring a photograph that means something to you—a favorite place, a person you love, a moment you want to remember—or choose from a collection of photographs Whitney has taken over the years.
We’ll guide you through the basics of stitching onto a photograph, including how to plan your design, choose your colors, and add embroidery details without losing the story already captured in the image. You can follow one of our suggested designs or let your imagination take over.
The result is part photograph, part textile, and entirely your own.
What to Expect:
An introduction to cross-stitching on photographs
Guidance on choosing colors, placement, and stitch patterns
A selection of Whitney’s photographs to choose from
The opportunity to bring your own meaningful photograph
Time to create a finished stitched photograph
What You Will Love:

Materials Included & What to Bring:
Materials Provided: Printed photographs from Whitney’s collection, embroidery floss, needles, and all necessary materials.
What to Bring: You are welcome to bring your own 5x7 photograph to embellish. A high-contrast image with some open areas works especially well. We’ll also have plenty of Whitney’s photographs available if you’d rather choose one when you arrive.
No previous cross-stitch or embroidery experience is needed. All skill levels welcome.
